R&D Specialist II Exposure Analytical Scientist

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The registration of Bayer's crop protection products in North America, Australia, and New Zealand requires a comprehensive safety evaluation, including a safety and risk evaluation dossier submitted to regulatory authorities to achieve timely, maximum Regulatory License To Operate for the customer. This position will have principal investigator study responsibilities for a variety of study types (residue analysis, method development, environmental fate, crop metabolism), and through collaboration and transparency will flex to the highest priority Outcome/Output

The primary responsibilities of this role, R&D Specialist II Exposure Analytical Scientist, are to: 

Perform or assist in performing laboratory based GLP studies in residue, environmental fate and metabolism to determine the behavior of BCS products in crops, soils, water or animal matrices;
Under the guidance of senior scientists, act as an Principal Investigator for GLP studies, aid in the development of methodologies, and prepare study reports and data summaries that are complete, accurate and suitable for inclusion in dossiers to regulatory authorities;
Accurately generate recording and reporting of scientific data that must pass internal and external (regulatory) auditing;
Solve analytical and equipment problems in the laboratory environment;
Develop a knowledge of DSO principles and leverage new WoW to find efficiencies in processes, drive Center and Hub Customer Focused Outcomes, support a ONE team culture, and focus on personal development;
Develop a knowledge of regulatory guidelines, and collaborate with self-operating groups to meet defined Outcomes;
Follow Bayer compliance programs, and fully observed all work place safety regulations.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Metabolomics, Organic Chemistry, or related field;
Ability to work in a collaborative environment, and able to give and receive feedback to peers;
Able to prioritize tasks, communicate issues proactively, and willing to support team to achieve the overall outcomes;
Demonstrated knowledge of basic analytical procedures, wet chemistry and specialized laboratory equipment;
Working knowledge of EPA and/or OECD Good Laboratory Practices regulations;
Excellent communication skills.
