The Highlights: DePaul Law's Racial Justice Fellowship will enable the study and advocacy of racial justice for vulnerable communities in Chicago. The Fellow, mentored and supervised by a Faculty Director, will teach and mentor law students, develop course material and contribute to advocacy-oriented programs and projects at the law school, the university and within Chicago. What You'll Do: As determined by the Faculty Director, the Fellow's responsibilities can include:  Supervising students on research, law and policy analysis, and advocacy skills to further racial justice Overseeing volunteers and interns working with the law school on racial justice issues Organizing conferences, workshops and seminars for university and community stakeholders Drafting research and policy papers in conjunction with the Faculty Director Experience supervising or working with students is desirable.   What You'll Need: Licensed to practice law in a US jurisdiction required with two to three years of experience working in civil rights or criminal justice. Licensed to practice law in a US jurisdiction required. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in civil rights, racial justice, or criminal justice; strong oral and written communication skills; strong research skills; excellent work ethic; time management skills; ability to work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously in diverse legal areas.  Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to a participatory, collaborative, inclusive work environment with a proven ability to contribute to a team of students, staff, volunteers, and faculty that is multi-racial, multi-generational, gender diverse, and includes people with disabilities.  Perks: Working for a stable and well-known University that values diversity and inclusion.
