Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Radiographer - Full Time Evenings 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM Monday-Friday with Alternating Weekends.
In this role, the successful candidate will:
Provide health care services applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment.Perform radiographic procedures and related techniques producing images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner.Supervise and evaluate radiology students assigned to them.Exercise professional judgment in performance of services and maintain a demeanor complementary to medical ethics.Provide appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of procedures.Job Responsibilities: Operate X-ray equipment in accordance with State and Federal Codes.Utilize proper film screen holders and grids.Set the appropriate SID and correct exposure factors utilizing optimum Kvp.Utilize equipment within the recommended safety guidelines.Position patient for proper orientation of anatomy.Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.Identify film and/or other identification by displaying right and left markers properly.Prepare, label, and dispense radiographic contrast media and medications on the sterile field.Evaluate requisition for patient identification and procedure to be performed.Provide patient care by verifying patient identification and explaining the procedure.Maintain patient dignity and modesty through proper gowning and covering.Operate functions of HIS/RIS in accordance with Hospital and Department policy.Pursue appropriate continuing education.Perform Daily Quality Assurance activity based upon established departmental protocol.Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify, you must have a Current New York State licensure to practice Diagnostic Radiography Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Completion of a two-year approved ARRT School is required.

Long Island Community Hospital provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $77,672.40 - $96,330.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
