Summary
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Performs diagnostic x-ray procedures and computerized tomography (CT) procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician. Uses x-ray and CT technology and techniques to assist in the diagnosis of patient medical conditions for patients throughout the age continuum.
YOUR ROLE WOULD ENCOMPASS:

Performs all types of CT studies to include diagnostic and interventional procedures; practices radiation safety for patients, staff, and self.
Performs all types of diagnostic x-ray procedures to include radiography, fluoroscopy, portables, and c-arms.
Performs all types of Computerized Tomography procedures within three (3) months of hire.
Uses sterile technique as required.
Optimally demonstrates patient anatomy through proper positioning and selection of technical factors.
Competently operates all radiology and CT equipment and support systems including PACS.
Utilizes department computer systems, PACS, etc. to review patient history and provide accurate documentation of studies.
Properly cares for and images patients of all ages; maintains patient confidentiality.
Coordinates exams within the department and with other departments to provide expedient and complete care; communicates with medical staff, coworkers, patients, families, and other hospital staff to assure quality patient care.
Handles telephone calls for scheduling, coordination, or questions with courtesy and accuracy.
Maintains proper quality improvement plans as requested.
Cleans, disinfects and maintains equipment as necessary; notifies leader of equipment problems and calls appropriate service vendors as needed.
Keeps work area properly supplied.
Meets "on call" responsibilities and responds within the allotted time limit.
Assists with departmental orientation and student clinical education as directed.
Accesses and administers drugs and biologicals that are pertinent to essential job functions in accordance with Medical Center procedures.
Assists in the future planning of the CT department.
Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.
YOUR EXPERIENCE INCLUDES (PROVEN PERFORMANCE IN):
Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology with current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required. Valid State of Nebraska Medical Radiographer license required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Bryan Health recognizes American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals) and the Military Training Network.
