Greets range patrons, answers questions and explains safety regulations . Observes patrons on the firing line to ensure all safety regulations are followed and provides necessary instruction. Completes activity reports that include range attendance and equipment use. Inventories range supplies and targets. Mows and trims range lawn and associated landscaping and spot cleans range buildings on an as needed basis. Performs routine building maintenance and preventative maintenance on range equipment. Must be able to lift targets, target frames, and shipping boxes, as well as work in an environment with frequent exposure to high noise levels. Must always follow personal safety precaution regulations .
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate under the general supervision of the Range Master and work as a team player with all staff; Always ensure strict adherence to the Shooting Range Procedural Manual (SRPM) for the shooting complex; Constantly monitor activity on the shooting lanes at all times while in operation. Assist customers with appropriate lane and target operation; Know and follow all emergency response plans when required; Operate shooting complex Point of Sale (POS) software and handle admission transactions; Sell day passes, memberships and retail inventory; Assist in performing end of day procedures and securing all inventory; Keep shooting complex sanitary and neat at all times; Perform computer functions and attend training as required by Range Master; Maintain productive relationships with established customers; Communicate in a professional and courteous manner with patrons and staff; Build and place target frames as well as perform daily inspections of the range; Repairs and maintains range maintenance equipment; Assist with purchasing of targets; Instruct patrons on the safe use of firearms; Instruct patrons on hunter safety certification; Adhere to county personnel policies and procedures at all times; Maintain a work week of up to 29 hours; Perform any additional duties assigned by the Range Master. Additional Duties Performs other work as required or when directed by administration. In the event of an emergency, all Camden County employees are considered essential and may be required to perform alternate duties. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of firearms safety regulation, firearms, archery equipment, ammunition and related supplies; Ability to instruct in the use of firearms and safety procedures; Ability to complete reports and maintain a supply inventory; Ability to operate and perform preventative maintenance on electrical/mechanical equipment; Ability to function effectively as part of a team; Presents a positive image of the County by courteously working with the public; Education, Experience, and Certification Requirements NRA RSO certification is required within 6 months of hiring; Customer service training is required within 3 months of hiring; First Aid certification is required within 6 months of hiring; Additional Certifications requested: GA Hunter Education Instructor, NRA rifle/pistol/shotgun instructor.
