May participate in call rotations, as necessary.Job DutiesAssists in non-routine specialized exams, such as vascular studies and procedures utilizing advanced imaging equipment and techniques.
Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures on various vascular systems of the body for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
Ensures quality control and quality improvement activities according to guidelines and federal and state regulations.
Maintains current level of expertise in topics related to ultrasound and participates in the appropriate level of continuing education required.
Coordinates in establishing proper parameters and protocols for imaging equipment in conjunction with radiologists.
Assists in revising and reviewing current protocols to ensure the highest quality of diagnostic tests.
Ensures that appropriate consents are present and signed before taking patient from waiting room.
Produces diagnostic images and processes and prepares images for interpretation by the radiologist.Minimum QualificationsSpecialized Diploma Graduate of approved CAHEA school of diagnostic medical sonography or certification program. In good standing with the ARDMS. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Ability to assess performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
Must be able to deal effectively and ethically with medical and confidential information relating to patients, families, physicians, and nursing personnel.
