The Receptionist greets visitors, acts as liaison with the unit for discharging patients, assists with answering overflow calls for Communications and relieves Communications Specialists during breaks.
Responsibilities:
Greets visitors, registers their arrival and provides visitor credentials.
Provides directions to destinations and orientation to overall facility and grounds layout.
Notifies units of families or significant others who have arrived to pick up discharging patients.
Educates patients, families and significant others about the programming and rules for the units to which they will be admitted.
Assists with answering overflow calls from Communications.
Provides reassurance and support to the patients, families and friends in order to reduce any concerns associated with the patient's stay at Carrier Clinic.
Refers them to appropriate treatment team members or the Nursing Supervisor when appropriate.
Provides switchboard coverage during Communications Specialist breaks.
Serves as back-up for Timekeeper.
Audits all Intakes, Meditech Admissions, Registration forms and clinical documents against department quality standard worksheets within 24 hours (72 hours on weekends).
Corrects errors when possible.
Provides data from Access Center related quality reports from other sources such as PFS and HIM.
Tabulates errors and creates summaries of accuracy rates by employee, job discipline and department.
Maintains individual and department scorecards measuring performance against strategy map goals, submitting them by the 5th of each month.
Provides trend reports by individual and department.
Assists management with root cause analyses and provides recommendations for process changes.
Produces training materials for in-house courses.
Serves on hospital committees as appointed.
Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications: High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
Minimum of one year of administrative/clerical experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
Minimum one year reception desk experience in a medical/behavioral health facility
