The Recreation Specialist is responsible for planning and leading therapeutic recreational activities for all residents in the program. They work as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team and provide feedback on residents' progress and participation in activities. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to provide a holistic approach to treatment.
Provides therapeutic recreation activities to residents, assesses their needs, and develops individualized plans accordingly. Leads group programming to improve physical, mental, and psycho-social well-being of residents. Participates as a member of the treatment team and provides input on residents' participation in recreational activities. Maintains documentation of resident progress and follows established performance standards. Coordinates scheduling and manages referrals for assigned therapeutic recreation groups and activities. Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in recreational therapy, recreation administration, or a related field highly desirable Experience
Demonstrated experience as a recreational provider required. Knowledge of the principles and practices of recreational and therapeutic activity programs. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
