About Us: Freedom Preparatory Academy Charter Schools (www.freedomprep.org) is a network of PreK-12 free public charter schools serving students in Memphis, TN, and Birmingham, AL. Our mission is to prepare all students in grades PreK-12 to excel in college and in life. Since our founding in 2009, we have grown from a class of 96 sixth grade students to now serving over 1950 students across multiple campuses. In 2024, we expanded into Birmingham, AL, starting with grades K-1, with plans to grow to a K-5 campus. Position Overview: Freedom Prep Charter Schools seeks an accomplished leader to serve as Regional Enrollment and Operations Manager - Alabama. This critical role focuses on driving strategic enrollment initiatives, fostering meaningful community engagement, and ensuring operational excellence to support the success and growth of Freedom Prep in Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in student recruitment, stakeholder relations, and project management, with a strong commitment to sustaining high-quality systems and achieving annual enrollment goals. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Student Enrollment Planning and Execution (50%) •Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic enrollment plan with short-term and long-term objectives to meet annual enrollment goals. •Organize and oversee recruitment activities to attract a robust pool of students and families, positioning Freedom Prep as the school of choice in a competitive market. •Manage the student enrollment process, including records collection, enrollment policies, lotteries, and maintaining waitlists. •Coordinate and facilitate school tours, open houses, and family orientation events to transition new students successfully. •Work with the marketing and communications team to design recruitment materials and campaigns, including translated resources. •Support the manager of school information systems to ensure accurate and efficient data management. Community Engagement and Retention (10%) •Build and nurture relationships with community organizations, local schools, and stakeholders to support student recruitment and retention efforts. •Serve as a liaison between Freedom Prep and the surrounding community, representing the school's mission and values. •Plan and execute community events, such as family dinners and orientations, to strengthen ties with families and stakeholders. •Actively monitor and address student retention rates, creating interventions and processes to support family satisfaction. Operations Management and Executive Support (20%) •Provide high-level operational support to the senior leaders, including the Chief Operations Officer and Managing Director of Alabama. •Strengthen and sustain regional operational systems, codifying best practices to ensure alignment with organizational goals. •Collaborate with finance, school leaders, and operations teams to monitor budgets, streamline processes, and manage compliance and budget requirements. School Expansion and Strategic Growth (10%) •Support the execution of facilities projects, managing timelines, and budgets. •Collaborate with school leaders to address operational responsibilities, including safety, compliance, and facility management. •Build partnerships with organizations to support the successful launch and sustainability of new schools. •Collaborate with school leadership teams, external affairs, and finance departments on cross-functional projects and initiatives. Education and Experience •Bachelor's degree in business administration, education, marketing, public relations, or a related field •5+ years of experience in student recruitment, enrollment management, operations, or community engagement, preferably in a charter school or educational setting. •Demonstrated success in managing and executing strategic enrollment and marketing campaigns. •Experience in project management and operational systems development, with a track record of meeting deadlines and organizational goals. Skills and Competencies Strategic Thinking: Ability to design and implement multi-year enrollment plans aligned with organizational objectives. Stakeholder Engagement: Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to connect with diverse families, community partners, and school leaders. Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficiency in managing and analyzing enrollment data, waitlists, and student retention metrics. Operational Expertise: Solid understanding of school operations, compliance, and facilities management to ensure efficient processes. Project Management: Skilled in coordinating cross-functional initiatives and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Marketing Acumen: Experience designing recruitment materials and campaigns, with knowledge of effective outreach strategies, including digital and multilingual resources. Other Requirements •Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed to support recruitment events and community engagement activities. •Willingness to travel between Birmingham and Montgomery for regional responsibilities 50/50.
