The Regional Medical Director will understand and effectively communicate and abide by the applicable standards and requirements, the contracting agency and the security regulations of the institutions to which assigned as well as supervise and provide care which meet or exceed the constitutional requirements of access to care, right to a professional medical judgment and right to care that is ordered.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSING:
Education: MD/DO from an accredited university.
Experience: Experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine or Public Health preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: Must obtain and maintain current licensure within the states as required, accrediting and contracting agency.Maintains a current DEA number.Must maintain privileges.Maintains CME requirements for continued medical practice in each State.Compliance.KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide clinical oversight to the facility medical programs, accrediting and contracting agency.Review and monitor applicable treatment guidelines, clinical decision support monographs and tools, clinical policies and procedures and deploying clinical initiatives.Collaborate, communicate and coordinate with the Associate Chief Clinical Officer, Division President, Regional Vice President and respective Health Services Administrators (H.S.A.) in responsibilities which include but are not limited to: Recruiting and Retention of practitioners, Continuous Quality Improvement, Healthcare related patient grievances, Infection control, Utilization management of inpatient and outpatient services, laboratory and medication formulary management and deploying clinical initiatives.Understand, utilize and monitor Chronic Care Clinics that assure compliance, accrediting and contracting agencies.Attend Medical Executive Committee meetings as assigned.Will serve as an active member of the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee.Attend all weekly scheduled leadership calls as assigned.Optimize the use of Telehealth for Monitoring, providing scheduled care, providing TeleHelp services and the use of eConsult modules.Support Business Development with topics of relevance to healthcare economics and Business Development (e.g. financial feasibility, market analysis as it relates to third party payer reimbursement).KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.LEADERSHIP ABILITIES: PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND CONDITIONS:
Works in a clean, well-lit environment with fluctuating temperatures. Requires substantial periods of work utilizing a computer, monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Requires lifting and carrying equipment and supplies weighing up to 35 lbs.; requires walking and standing; requires sitting; occasional ascending/descending stairs. The ability to reach or bend frequently is required. Requires visual acuity and manual dexterity to operate equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL:
This job primarily operates independently in a corporate office. This job may be performed in a correctional facility, client site or counseling center including minimum, medium or maximum security levels. Employees are exposed to some level of risk and/or harm by inmates including exposure to blood borne pathogens. Employee is expected to work in accordance with all security rules and regulations to minimize the risk of danger and/or harm to themselves or other employees. This position may require travel depending on specific needs.
