The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional certification in behavior analysis.
RBTs assist in delivering behavioral analysis services and practice under the direction and close supervision of an RBT Supervisor, who is responsible for all work RBTs perform.
This position is responsible for assisting in the care, instruction, and supervision of students with additional needs in the classroom, resource room or self-contained classroom.
The RBT is expected to assist in clerical tasks, monitor student behavior, and provide feedback.
This position is part of the paraeducator team and reports to the certified staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma required
?
Pass background check
?
Experience working with students with autism or students with intense behavioral needs
?
Complete 40-hour training
?
Complete initial competency assessment followed by passing the RBT exam
?
Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills

Interest in working with children and adolescents

Ready to learn and contribute
?
Available before/after school for continued supervision by RBT Supervisor
REPORTS TO: RBT Supervisor and Teacher of Record
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Must be flexible regarding scheduling, working conditions and location of work.

Accommodate students with special needs to ensure class participation.

Assist students with aggressive and challenging behaviors.

Attend in-service training, and other meetings as part of the assignment
?
Implement behavioral and educational plans designed by the IEP team.
?
Instruct students in group and individual settings to meet IEP goals.
?
Maintain data providing accurate information regarding student progress.
?
Graph data in order to analyze student progress.
?
Monitor students providing a positive and safe environment conducive to learning.
?
Provide certified staff data and support regarding students' IEP development.
?
Support students in addressing personal care and restroom needs.
?
Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
?
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
?
High degree of confidentiality, motivation, and responsibility.
?
Highly collaborative team player.
?
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, etc.).
?
Performs maneuvers as required by professional crisis management course(s) including emergency safety interventions for the purpose of keeping the student, other students, and staff safe.

20-hour in-service training required annually.
?
Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range If selected, will begin on the paraprofessional pay schedule.
Once RBT exam and competencies observed, then will be paid at $20.00 per hour.
