Position Summary
The role of an Dental Assistant is pivotal in supporting oral surgeons and facilitating the smooth operation of the clinic.
This position demands a proficient and driven individual with a robust foundation in dental assisting, with a preferred emphasis on oral surgery (not required).
The right candidate will actively engage with oral surgeons, offering invaluable support during surgical procedures, upholding sterility in the surgical environment, and ensuring unwavering adherence to the highest standards of patient care.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist chair side proficiently during a diverse range of dental surgical procedures.
Prepare, break down, disinfect, and sterilize treatment rooms and instruments to maintain optimal hygiene standards.
Ensure strict compliance with infection control, CDC, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations, guaranteeing a safe and secure environment for both patients and staff.
Capture high-quality radiographic images and maintain meticulous documentation of patient records.
Provide patients with comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care instructions to enhance their overall experience and recovery.
Maintain accurate and thorough patient charting for effective record-keeping and continuity of care.
Required Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated motivation to learn with a genuine passion for healthcare and a commitment to direct patient care.
Previous experience in dental or oral surgery is preferred, showcasing a solid foundation in dental assisting.
Familiarity with WinOMS or Open Dental software is a plus, demonstrating adaptability to dental practice management tools.
Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in email and Microsoft Office applications.
Willingness to travel as required to support clinic operations.
Strong follow-through, effective communication, and reliability are paramount for success in this role.
Qualifications (must be able to obtain): NH MedTech (for NH Assistants only).
CPR certification to ensure readiness in emergency situations.
Radiology certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire, ensuring proficiency in capturing diagnostic images.
Massachusetts Dental Assistant License or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire, meeting state regulatory requirements.
DAANCE certification is preferred, or the ability to achieve it within 1 year of hire, indicating a commitment to professional development in dental anesthesia and sedation.
