Provide nursing care in a variety of Ambulatory Care Procedure areas both on-site and off-site. Includes administration of conscious sedation and expert monitoring of patient response, proficient telemetry skills and ability to respond to emergent situations, telephone management of patient and family calls including detailed assessment and triage of emergent/urgent situations, provide patient and family education, assistance with procedures, daily clinic operations management, functional supervision of assistive personnel and other responsibilities as requested. *This posting will require travel to the various on and off site procedural areas.

Demonstrated ability to start IV?s, access ports and maintain vascular access Demonstrated ability to practice independently, set goals, promote teamwork, coordinate and perform multiple activities and problem solve as measured by interview, references, and performance evaluations Demonstrated ability to set and implement priorities, organize and delegate effectively and efficiently. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate well with others (including peers) Demonstrate abilities in interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills and problem-solving skill within all levels of the health care team Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of MI.
Three to Five (3-5) years of current or recent (within last 18 months) RN experience in the areas of Surgical nursing, PACU, or an Ambulatory Surgery or Procedural setting
ACLS certification

This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position.

Shift/Hours: Day/Eve shifts; Mon - Fri (possible evenings/weekends/holidays). Hours & Days will vary depending on needs. Variable shift lengths, Flexibility is required
The standard hours of operation for the Procedural clinics are Monday through Friday, 7a-6p with extended hours for continued patient care. Saturday, Sunday, and holiday hours may be added based on patient needs.

Location and home unit: ACNRP Procedure cluster  

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
