We are looking for Registered Nurse to join our health center team in providing excellent quality patient care to our patients in accordance with delegated responsibilities and agency medical policies and procedures.
Your duty of caring for the patients coming into our facility will be done under the general supervision and direction of the Health Center Manager.
A bachelor's degree in nursing and a NJ Registered Nurse (RN) license are essential requirements for consideration. You will also need to be trained in BLS/CPR and be ACLS-certified. A professional, friendly attitude and effective communication skills are keys to becoming successful in this role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Assists the clinician and reinforces medical recommendations and instructions.
2. Takes medical and social histories and vital signs.
3. Reinforces information about birth control methods, STDs, and other information as appropriate.
4. Give explanations to patients regarding laboratory and diagnostic procedures and assists with laboratory tests.
5. Dispenses supplies, administers medications and answers telephone inquiries.
6. Maintains appropriate patient records.
7. Ascertain charges and keeps accurate account of monies.
8. Make arrangements for appropriate medical and social referrals as directed.
9. Informs the clinician &/or center manager of any medical and/or social follow-ups necessary. As assigned, does patient follow-up and keeps appropriate records.
10. Participates in quality assurance activities and meets established QA deadlines.
11. Ensures compliance with PPMNJ's "Privacy Guidelines" and HIPAA compliance program.
12. Assumes additional responsibilities and performs other duties as may be delegated by the Center Manager.
13. Attends Center Staff meetings and other meetings as deemed appropriate by the Center Manager.
Customer Services/ Productivity 14. All duties and responsibilities are performed in a professional and customer service-oriented manner in compliance with PPMNJ policy and procedures.
15. Provides education and counseling in a non-judgmental manner to patients by providing support and information on reproductive and sexual health issues, including birth control methods, pregnancy options, prenatal care, abortion, STI's/HIV and safer sex.
16. Assists PPMNJ and the Center Manger in efforts to achieve PPMNJ benchmarks for the level of service, visits per hour, waiting time, patient satisfaction and meeting revenue cycle goals.
17. Assists in maintaining an attractive and comfortable appearance of the Center and in providing excellent customer service.
18. Works in an efficient manner and completes tasks and projects on time.
19. Contributes to meeting goals for RVU's per hour and patient visits.
\n QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS1. Graduate of accredited school of Registered Nursing and holds a RN License in theState of New Jersey.2. Minimum of one to two years-previous exposures to related or applicable functions, such as Obstetrics, Public Health, Maternal and Infant Care, etc.3. Bilingual capabilities desirable but not necessary.4. Able to utilize sound judgment in assessing patient needs.5.
