DescriptionSummary: Oversees and coordinates day-to-day activities of nursing personnel in patient care units, provides direction to Clinical Staff, implements work of assigned units and coordinates activities with other patient care units and related departments. Requirements: A. Education/Skills • Graduate of a Registered Nursing program, Bachelor Degree preferred • Excellent customer service, negotiation and communication skills B. Experience • Minimum of 2 years clinical patient care experience in a relevant setting • Minimum of 1 year of experience overseeing work of assigned units • Previous healthcare management experience, preferred C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications • RN license in good standing in state of employment or a compact state, if applicable • Registered Nurse (RN) required • American Heart Association Basic Life Support • Current ACLS certification at time of hire or within 12 weeks of hire for experienced RNs or completion by the end of the clinical orientation period for new graduate nurses. Maintain certification thereafter. • Current PALS certification at time of hire or within 12 weeks of hire for experienced RNs or completion by the end of the clinical orientation period for new graduate nurses. Maintain certification thereafter. • Moderate Sedation within 3 months of hire for experienced RNs or within 12 months of hire for new graduate nurses. Maintain certification annually. • Current Arrhythmia recognition at time of hire or within 8 weeks of hire for experienced RNs or completion within 6 months for new graduate nurses. Maintain certification thereafter. • Knowledge of ASPAN guidelines and CHRISTUS policy.
