*Position Description:*Receive/give nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours. Make daily rounds, supervise SCNAs making sure they are performing their work assignments in accordance with care plans. Admit, transfer and discharge residents, as necessary. Maintain daily census. Report dates and times of discharges, deaths or residents going out on pass to business manager. Receive telephone orders from physicians, document new orders, contact pharmacy and notify next of kin. Complete change of condition form, notify physician, next of kin. Complete accident/incident reports, notify physician, next of kin, administrator and DON. Prepare and administer medications as directed by physician, identify resident before administering medication/treatment, order prescribed medication. Ensure narcotic records are accurate for shift, report narcotic discrepancies. Make rounds with physicians, as necessary. Administer professional services such as- catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, drainage bags, obtain specimens for lab test as ordered, care for the dead/dying, oxygen, etc., as required.Measure vital signs. Ensure assigned work area is maintained and clean. Complete all documentation before leaving for the day. Other duties as assigned by DON/Administrator.*Minimum Qualifications:**Knowledge and Skills:**Additional Requirements with or without Reasonable Accommodations:*Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, communicate in English, alphabetize, and perceive depth.Project a positive and caring attitude while cooperating with departments, co-workers, patients, physicians, visitors and guests. Respect for human dignity and patient rights. Maintain the operation of PRMC in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Adhere to policy and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook. Responsible for adhering to current patient privacy practices and minimal disclosure policies.
