Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Medical Surgical - Orthopedics Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of specialty experience required; at least 4 years of nursing experience preferred if first-time traveler License: Must have relevant state license prior to the start date; certain units may accept pending applications Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Must-Have: - Skills in IV start- Ability to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, alternating between days and nights Job Description: - Care for patients in a short-term acute care environment.- Provide post-operative care for patients with primary total joint replacements, joint revisions, spine surgeries, ankle replacements, and shoulder replacements.- Manage diabetic wounds, venous/arterial stasis wounds, surgical debridement, and amputations.- Assist in urological procedures such as prostatectomy, nephrectomy, and stent placement.- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patients with comorbidities followed by other specialty teams.- Work on a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5-6.- Complete orientation hours and necessary modules prior to and during the commencement of duties.
- Comply with facility's dress code; individual scrubs in any color without logos are allowed.- Utilize Cerner charting system for patient records.This is a teaching hospital with a total staffed bed capacity of 402 and demands high-caliber nursing care and adaptability.
