We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsPosition Summary:Will utilize the nursing process to independently deliver nursing care to patients in order to achieve quality outcomes and communicates need for guidance/supervision based on self-assessment of strengths and limitations. Promotes a positive image of nursing and promotes collegiality among healthcare team members. Market Float Pool RNs are scheduled in accordance with the Staffing and Scheduling- Nursing, RN Floating - Healthy Workplace Environment (HWE) and Attendance policies. Requirements of RN unit based, facility based, or system based pools are based on which pool they are in.Floating:Market Float Pool employees will be required to float to all Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare System Facilities. Market Float Pool Nurses will be scheduled in units in which they have competencies. Market Float Pool Nurse can be placed in a unit below their competency level with a modified assignmentWhat qualifications you will need:Experience Required:Minimum of at least three years of RN experience with a minimum of two years specialty experience for those floating to specialty areas.Required License and Certifications:Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas or Compact Nursing License. Required Upon Hire (for certifications only: upon hire is defined as within 2 business days of start date)BLS for Healthcare Providers Required Upon Hire (for certifications only: upon hire is defined as within 2 business days of start date)ACLS from the American Heart Association Required Upon Hire (for certifications only: upon hire is defined as within 2 business days of start date)PALS from the American Heart Association or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) from Emergency Nurse Association (ENA) Required Upon Hire (for certifications only: upon hire is defined as within 2 business days of start date)Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) from Emergency Nurse Association (ENA) Required Upon Hire (for certifications only: upon hire is defined as within 2 business days of start date)NIH Stroke Certification/Triage Training Required within 30 days All Registered Nurses caring for stroke patients will be required to: 1) maintain annual NIHSS per department direction; 2) maintain 8 hours of stroke education per year as per department direction; 3) must complete the mandatory stroke core measure module on health stream per department direction. Education Required:Graduate of a nursing program: diploma, associate degree, or baccalaureate program.All Registered Nurses caring for stroke patients will be required to: 1) maintain annual NIHSS per department direction; 2) maintain 8 hours of stroke education per year as per department direction; 3) must complete the mandatory stroke core measure module on health stream per department direction.Del Sol Medical Center is a full service, acute-care hospital in east El Paso, Texas.
