Registered Nurse - Nicu

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)




Work location: Onsite; Mission Hills, CA


Compensation: $60 to $65 per hour




Duties and Responsibilities


Deliver comprehensive care to critically ill or premature newborns, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and providing nutritional support through feeding tubes or intravenous lines.


Continuously monitor heart rate, oxygen levels, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and other vital signs, making adjustments to care as needed based on the infant's condition.


Accurately administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments prescribed by neonatologists, adhering to NICU protocols and guidelines.


Aid physicians during complex medical procedures, such as intubation, central line placement, or surgical interventions in the NICU.


Offer emotional support to families of critically ill infants, helping them understand the care being provided and guiding them through difficult situations.


Teach parents how to care for their newborns, such as how to feed them, administer medications, or perform necessary home care after discharge.


Create individualized care plans in collaboration with the medical team to meet the unique needs of each infant based on their medical condition.


Work closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure cohesive and comprehensive care.




Education Qualifications




Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)




Experience




2 years related experience


Familiarity with Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Program guidelines


Vents, IV starts, PICC management




Licenses and Certifications




Registered Nurse (RN) License




BLS (Basic Life Support) certification


ACLS Certification
