Registered Nurse - Operating Room @ Medstar Georgetown University Hospital

Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Operating Room - Transplant Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (07:00 - 19:00) Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week Experience: Minimum of 2 years required.
Must have one prior travel assignment.
License: Must have a valid DC license in hand.
Certifications: BLS required; BSN preferred.
Must-Have: - Experience with Whipple, Intestinal, Kidney, Liver procedures.
- Ability to circulate and scrub Hepatobiliary, Kidney, and Liver Transplants.
- Experience in transplant cases, with preference for those who can both scrub and circulate.
Job Description: - Work solely on transplant cases.
- Alternating shifts: 2x12-hour days (7 am - 7 pm) and 2x8-hour days (7 am - 3 pm) for a total of 40 hours per week.
- Up to 8 call shifts within an 8-week period with a 60-minute response time for call.
- Manage special procedures including Whipple, Pancreatectomy, Hepatectomy, Small Bowel Transplant, Liver Transplant (Pediatric and Adult).
- Focus on patient diagnoses like Liver and Pancreatic Cancer, Congenital Liver, and Small Bowel Abnormalities.
- Flu vaccine required for employment; no exemptions allowed.
- Scrubs provided in blue color.
- Participate in orientation with 28 hours to complete pre-start modules, billable up to 4 hours.
Only those travelers are required to work each full scheduled week and must have availability for a maximum of 7 days of RTO (request time off) per contract.
Note: Two supervisor references are required for application.
Return staff policy indicates a minimum gap of one year if there has been previous employment.
