Job Summary The Perioperative RN demonstrates a competence level of nursing practice to provide safe and effective patient and family centered care for the patients and families in the perianesthesia area and commonly cares for patients from pediatrics to geriatrics with a variety of pre/post anesthetic and surgical needs. The competent level of nursing practice is characterized by increased knowledge, skill and experience to analyze, think critically, plan, prioritize and organize care and make appropriate clinical judgements and manage routine and unexpected clinical situations. The RN demonstrates mastery of most technical, critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills; practices family centered care as part of a collaborative team and incorporates evidence based practice in care delivery. With increased experience, the RN participates in leadership activities in patient care delivery, the practice setting, and the nursing profession. Job Specifications/Qualifications: 1 year of acute care nursing with the past 2 years preferred.
