Day Kimball Healthcare is hiring for a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Per Diem Day Shift Wound Clinic job in Putnam, CT. As the Registered Nurse (RN), you will collect and document data using the Wound Clinic EMR (Wound Clinic documentations forms to be used when EMR not available).
Data collection includes current and past medical and surgical history, family history, social history, medication history, and past wound history.
Changes are updated with each visit.
The Wound Care Registered Nurse has a comprehensive knowledge of normal skin, wounds, and the wound healing process.
These include anatomy physiology, phases of the wound healing process, would closure methods, and effects of temperature, exudate, and hypoxia.
The Wound Care Nurse is able to assess and identify etiologic factors altering skin integrity, types of skin damage, and environmental complications.
The wound care nurse is required to be familiar with the patient consenting process and with assisting the Wound Clinic provider with minor surgical procedures that are performed.
The Wound Care Nurse monitors wound healing by identifying and recommending interventions based on co-morbidities and systemic factors that affect wound healing - age, medications, nutrition, disease processes, infection, glucose control, obesity, systems failure, and oxygenation.
The Wound Care Nurse uses an interdisciplinary approach to wound treatment and prevention.
Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities: The Wound Care Nurse provides direct patient wound and skin care.
The Wound Care Nurse is a direct care provider, educator, and resource for patients with wound and skin care management issues.
Wound and skin care management focuses on utilization of techniques and products to aid in healing.
The provider is the leader of the team.
Wound and skin care management plans must always be prescribed by the provider, in collaboration with the Wound Care Nurse.
Registered Nurse (RN) Education and Experience Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Connecticut required Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within three months of hire required Graduate Nurse: primary source verification of successful completion of a nursing program directly from the nursing education program.
Wound Registered Nurse certification required after 2 years of working in wound care clinic.
Proof of certification shall be on record in the employee's file when applicable.
