Unlock your potential at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Nurse Manager provides criteria for evaluation of the Registered Nurse working as manager of the Neonatal Nursery. The Nurse Manager oversees the day to day operations in the Neonatal Nursery and addresses the human resources needs of those who report to her/him. The Manager is involved in planning, organization, implementing and evaluating processes within the unit.What you will do in this role: Responsible for overseeing the smooth and efficient operation of the NEONATAL NURSERIES on a day to day basis.Monitors attendance and provides counseling as indicated.Manages payroll (Kronos).Oversees ordering and management of supplies. Participates in yearly inventory process. Proficient in SMART and MediBuy.Reviews and approves PTO/Vacation requests.Makes dayshift schedule. Oversees and approves nightshift self-scheduling. Proficient in ANSOS software.Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures in conjunction with the Director of Neonatal Nursery and the Medical Director of the Neonatal Nursery.Coordinates the timely completion of yearly evaluations of staff nurses, techs, and secretarial staff. Participates in screening and interviewing candidates for Neonatal Nursery positions, including RN's, GN's, ancillary staff, and contract positions. Assist in the coordination and integration of interdepartmental and intradepartmental services (which includes ancillary departments).Monitors Plus reports and makes adjustments as indicated.Approves and updates data in the Lawson system regarding employee status changes, open positions, and other related human resources issues.Coordinates planning of quarterly Core Charge Nurse Group and ANM meetings. Participates in the planning of Unit Meetings in conjunction with Neonatal Nursery Director.Participates in unit-based and hospital wide committees.Participates in yearly clinical project to be determined with the Director.Provides relief charge in the unit when necessary.Maintains competence in the care of the Neonatal Nursery patient through remaining current on required certifications and yearly competencies.Participates in CQI and other required audits.Participates in improving and monitoring the Discharge Planning Process in the Neonatal Nursery.Is available to Neonatal Nursery staff for counseling and mentoring, as needed What qualifications you will need:At least 5 years experience as a staff nurse in a Neonatal Nursery and 2 years experience as a charge nurse or ANMRNC Certification preferredSTABLE Certification preferredBasic Cardiac Life SupportNeonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 60 months of employment start dateRegistered NurseAssociate Degree, Bachelor Degree preferred HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is a 530+ bed hospital where sophisticated, world-class medicine meets the comfort, care and convenience of a community hospital.
