Participates in quality improvement activities.Periop 101 Course Description:The Perioperative 101 Course is a 6-8 month blended learning program for the novice nurse entering the Perioperative environment. It combines the AORN Core Curriculum evidence-based module study course with classroom didactics, OR clinical skills, and simulation labs. It incorporates OR observation and hands-on participation in all modalities of perioperative nursing skills. The program will enhance the nurse's educational knowledge leading to the ability to practice independently at a foundation level in a perioperative position.Learning Objectives:At the completion of this course, the nurse will be able to:1. Practice independently at a foundation level in a perioperative position.2. Advance as a professional perioperative nurse.3. Improve patient outcomes through evidence-based practice.4.
