The orthopaedic population of patients includes total joint replacements, trauma, and orthopaedic oncology. The orthopaedic department at MGH has one of the only specified orthopaedic oncology programs on the East Coast. The urology population is varied in acuity from stone removal to prostatectomy. This unit also takes on Surgery overflow patients. The patient care delivery model is a patient-focused model, supported by the primary nursing team.
