The unit is comprised of 30 beds; 12 beds are dedicated for the care of acutely ill pulmonary patients and 18 beds are dedicated to general medical care. Patients come to the RACU mainly from the various ICU's and the Emergency Department at MG H. The RACU patient population is diverse and includes medical, surgical, trauma, vascular, thoracic and burn patients. General Medical patients are also cared for on this unit.
