Through our multi-site network of care, we constantly strive to meet its mission in helping people find their way while educating and empowering individuals to participate in their own care and recovery.Job SummaryThe RN Supervisor for the Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit is an experienced Registered Nurse and is responsible for supervising and monitoring the Nursing department(s) on an assigned shift in accordance with nursing standards and practices as well as current Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations.This position ensures the appropriate delivery of direct and indirect patient care and creates a positive environment for the professional practice of nursing. This position provides leadership for Natchaug Hospital departments in the absence of the unit manager, director, or administration.Key Responsibilities:Serves as the point person in collaboration with the CLC, for admissions, internal and external patient transfers.Acts as a facilitator and decision maker for placement of all admissions and inter/intra facility transfers.Contributes to the efficient operation of the unit by establishing priorities, eliminating impediments, and resolving problems.Ensures the voice of the patient is central and present in decision-making.Seeks opportunities to model teamwork and collaboration both within and outside the department.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Nursing required, Masters preferredActive Registered Nurse license from the State of Connecticut requiredThree years of acute care charge or supervisory experience required, with at least one year of experience as part of the 3 required years, in a psychiatric setting preferredProgressive leadership experienceCertified in Basic Life Support (BLS) provider credentialed form the American Heart Association (AHA) requiredCertified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provider credentialed form the American Heart Association (AHA) preferredExcellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments, employees, physicians, managers, other agencies and the publicEnsures the presence of a safe and healthful work environment, promoting self-care and empowerment.We take great care of careers.With locations around the state, Hartford HealthCare offers exciting opportunities for career development and growth.
