Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Surgical Oncology Discipline: RN Duration: Ongoing Employment Type: Staff ChristianaCare is hiring a full-time Surgical Scheduler for our Gyn Oncology department at our Helen F. Graham center in Newark, DE.
As a surgical scheduler you would be supporting patients and providers in our GYN Oncology office by scheduling surgery, scheduling imaging appointments, and follow up appointments.
You would also rotate to check-in and check-out and manage the front desktop.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30p No Weekends or Holidays Principals and duties: Scheduling appropriate medical and cardiac clearances.
Takes reservations for all surgeries, invasive and non-invasive procedures to meet the physicians needs and to ensure smooth flow, efficient progression of scheduled cases.
Coordinates appointments for patients with other physicians and tasks as required.
Provides patient counseling on surgeries, including instructions for before and after surgery.
Maintains doctors daily schedules and meetings.
Rescheduling office hours due to change in surgeries.
Supports Front Desk Clerk with Patient Registration, answering telephones, billing, and other duties as necessary.
Assists Clinical Assistant with patients during office hours, disability forms, insurance authorizations, and other duties as necessary.
Prepares charts for office visits by providing necessary documentation for physician review.
Preparations for new diagnosis; including all appropriate appointments and documents.
Performs other related duties as required Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent.
Three to five years of experience in a private medical office and/or outside facility required.
