Job Title: Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) Job Specialty: General OR Transplant Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30) Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week Experience: Minimum 2 Years Required; Must Have One Prior Travel Assignment License: DC Surgical Tech License Certifications: BLS, CSFA Must-Have: DaVinci Xi Robotics Experience, Acute Inpatient OR, Laparoscopic Assisted Cases Job Description: - Provide surgical assistance in the operating room using the DaVinci Xi Surgical System- Expertise in suturing all wound layers, including muscle and fascia- Proficient in tying/ligating clamped vessels or tissues and aseptic techniques- Knowledge of electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources/cords- Perform wound dressing using liquid or spray occlusive materials- Handle appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, and other general cases- Execute gynecological procedures such as abdominal hysterectomy and vaginal hysterectomy- Conduct robotic surgeries, including cardiothoracic, colorectal, gastrointestinal, and transplant procedures- Manage thoracic cases such as lung resection and thoracotomy- Facilitate transplant surgeries for kidney and liver- Address urological procedures including laparoscopic-assisted nephrectomy and prostatectomy- Work within a teaching hospital environment with an average daily census of 60 cases- Engage in a 1:1 patient ratio with adults- Follow the facility's regulation and scrubbing color code (Blue) Additional Requirements: - Flu vaccine required with no exemptions- Only three days of requested time off permitted- Orientation consists of 28 hours, with modules completed pre-start and potentially during orientation.
