The Specialty Care Transport Nurse will utilize the nursing process and established best practices to assess, plan, evaluate and document nursing care of patients in both the out of hospital and interfacility environments. They will understand and apply specialized critical care principals and techniques including basic and advanced life support treatment. 1. Collaborates and communicates with all members of the interdisciplinary team to provide a coordinated efficient method of conveying diagnosis, effects of treatment and results to patients and families. 2. Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods. 3. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in committee / council activities. 4. Delegates patient care activities to qualified, competent individuals while maintaining accountability and responsibility for patient care outcomes. 5. Participates in the collection, analysis, and application of performance improvement data. 6. Responsible for the safety of patients during transport between medical care facilities including provision of basic as well as advanced life support measures required to stabilize the critically ill or injured patient. 7.
