Where You Will WorkChino is an open-pit copper mining complex located 15 miles from the historic mining community of Silver City in southwestern New Mexico. The historic Chino mine was among the world's first low-grade, open-pit copper mines. Today, the operation consists of a 36,000-metric-ton-per-day concentrator that produces copper and a 150-million-pound-per-year solvent extraction/electrowinning plant that produces copper cathode from solution generated by run-of-mine leaching.

ResponsibilitiesPerform root cause analysis of equipment failures and assist in the identification and implementation of corrective actions or technologies.Consider cost impact for recommended action plans for correcting downtime issues on installed equipment.Ensure continuous production is uninterrupted by equipment failures.Reports on Key Performance Indices.Analyze current CMMS data for equipment health indicators and prepare reports.Perform onsite evaluation of existing processes and equipment and make recommendations for improvement.Perform other duties as required.What You Bring To FreeportBachelor's degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline with no experience required.Working knowledge of MSOffice suite including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project.Knowledge and understanding of good engineering practices and principles.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Self-starter with solid integrity.Understand the importance of safety, legality and quality.Preferred QualificationsFailure Analysis ExperienceProject Management ExperienceReliability Maintenance ExperienceMining Maintenance ExperienceEffective Communication TrainingWhat We Offer YouThe estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $76,000-$104,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
