Overview: The Reliability Engineer – Rotating Equipment has shared responsibility for overall mechanical reliability (rotating equipment) and maintenance for AmSty Operations. Facilitates development of facility maintenance strategies and solves reliability and availability issues through application of reliability technology and tools to enable the plants to meet their business plan and strategy. Provides technical leadership to the Polystyrene maintenance organizations to ensure that reliability and facility health goals are met. Serves as reliability subject matter expert for rotating equipment.
\n Primary Responsibilities:Leads the creation and implementation of the business maintenance strategy at the lowest level of detail that can be applied. Assists Reliability focal points in creating a facility maintenance strategy for existing plants that fulfills the business maintenance strategy.Develop and lead implementation of equipment maintenance strategies for rotating equipment. Support plant turnarounds as work process subject matter expertApplies cause and effect methodology in all areas where reliability opportunities are identified and where the RCI (Root Cause Investigation) triggers are met. Evaluates and quantifies the impact projects such as equipment reconfigurations, design changes, equipment improvements, etc. will improve plant reliability.Develops and prioritizes a list of reliability opportunities based on asset utilization and cost data.Provides reliability input to all project activities. Uses reliability engineering principles and tools (Weibull, RCI, FMEA) to increase mechanical reliability. Leads and participates in reliability assessments and efforts to maintain or improve plant health. Uses long term cost of ownership and reliability engineering principles to optimize spare parts levels.Leverages and a power user of computerized maintenance management system running SAP.Develops and implements operating discipline that will improve reliability. Assists in improving the PPM program and evaluates effectiveness of the PPM program.Networking and supports AmSty's Styrene Monomer Operations. Actively participates in the AmSty safety program.Others as requested. Job Requirements:Bachelor's Degree required5+ years of experience in chemical or petrochemical industries (or equivalent)Ability to travel on periodic basis, occasional travel to South America Preferred:Mechanical Engineering degree preferredExperience with rotating equipment
