**Job Description:**
Northwestern Mutual is seeking a motivated and confident Remote Accounts Receivable Associate to join our dynamic team in San Diego, California. In this part-time role, you will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable functions within our organization, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments, and maintaining robust communication with clients regarding their accounts. **Responsibilities:**
- **Invoice Management:**
- Prepare and send out invoices to clients accurately and promptly.
- Ensure that all billing information is correct and includes the necessary details.
- **Payment Processing:**
- Monitor incoming payments and ensure they are recorded accurately in the accounting system.
- Process and reconcile payments, addressing discrepancies as needed.
- **Account Reconciliation:**
- Maintain and update accounts receivable records to reflect current and accurate balances.
- Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure that all payments and invoices are accounted for.
- **Client Communication:**
- Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding any accounts receivable inquiries.
- Follow up on outstanding invoices and payments, resolving any issues with clients in a professional and empathetic manner.
- **Reporting:**
- Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status, including outstanding balances and payment trends.
- Provide insights on the effectiveness of collections processes and recommend improvements.
- **Collaboration:**
- Work closely with other departments, such as Sales and Customer Service, to enhance the client's experience and resolve any discrepancies.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
**Requirements:**
- **Experience:**
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or a related field.
- Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- **Education:**
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- **Personality Traits:**
- Confident in your abilities and your knowledge of accounts receivable processes.
- Highly motivated with a strong desire to achieve goals and contribute to the team's success.
- **Soft Skills:**
- Strong cooperation skills to effectively engage with team members and clients.
