We're seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant/Full Charge Bookkeeper who shares our values of client service, collaboration, and problem-solving. They're fired up to find solutions to the gnarliest client challenges, and approach their work with curiosity, flexibility and positivity.  This role requires someone capable of running  day-to-day bookkeeping processes (data entry, reconciliation, payroll, sales tax, AP, AR), and also has high-level accounting knowledge and understands financial statements. This person has a wide knowledge of different industries and understands different business entity types (sole prop, LLC, S-corp, partnership), and is skilled enough to spot inconsistencies and curious enough to ask questions; brave enough to inquire about what they are seeing.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain and update accounting data in QuickBooks for various clients, including account reconciliations, journal entries, sales tax filings, and generating 1099s/W-2s. Prepare month-end closing and year-end adjusting entries, along with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Process payroll and tax payments for multiple clients, managing updates, terminations, and benefit withholdings. Detect and reconcile payroll and payroll tax payment issues, file quarterly payroll tax returns. Cultivate strong, professional relationships with clients, through responsiveness, problem-solving and education. Qualifications: 3+ years of experience as a Staff Accountant or Full Charge Bookkeeper in a CPA firm or other environment with multiple clients. Deep knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, including AP, AR, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Expertise in transaction entry using GAAP, functional expense allocation, reconciliation, and financial report analysis. Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and Online), Microsoft Excel, and other cloud-based accounting software (ADP, Gusto, Bill.com, etc.). Ability to multitask and manage priorities across several clients; We work as a team and you may touch up to 30 client files/month. Strong communication and organizational skills, emotional intelligence, and the professionalism to inspire trust with clients. Comfortable in a team-oriented environment, taking direction from peers and supervisors. Experience with the unique funding, operational goals, and reporting requirements of non profits is highly desirable.
