PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITIONThe Fleet Ops Specialist position provides an interface between external and internal customers of the Constellation Power fleet. External customers include but are not limited to the Independent System Operators, Regional Transmission Organizations, Power Purchase Agreement offtakes. Internal customers include but are not limited to Constellation Power Operations, the Portfolio Operations Generation Dispatchers, generation sites, and Constellation Power Management. The specialist proactively monitors and addresses generating unit and system conditions resulting from equipment issues, ensures requests for energy and ancillaries are met, ensures compliance with all regulatory rules in the appropriate ISO/RTO markets, and ensures commitments within contract agreements are met to achieve positive results for the Constellation Power. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIESMonitors generation conditions (alarms, status, trends, etc.) and takes actions to address and/or communicate issues to the appropriate internal and external customersResponsible for timely communication to internal and external customers required by operating procedures, power purchase and interconnect agreementsResponds to ISO and/or power purchase agreement representatives' requests in accordance with operating agreements and procedures (examples include, but are not limited to, curtailment orders, reliability directives, and voltage schedules)Schedules generating unit availability and outages in a way that maximizes reliability and economic benefit.Troubleshoots anomalies and escalate to field operations groups as needed.Dispatches generation assets in a way that ensures that all energy and ancillary obligations are metPrepares operating reports and tracks performance indicators as required. Creates, maintains and complies with procedures associated with this function. Supports ISO driven system and or procedure changesAdditional duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in engineering or technical field with 6+ years professional experience ORAssociate's degree with 8+ years professional experience and 3+ years exempt level experience ORHigh school diploma with 10+ years professional experience in related industry and 5+ exempt level experienceExcellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to analyze and understand trends and instrumentation parameters to proactively identify adverse conditions and trendsPosition requires rotating shift work as part of a team of individuals filling a 24x7 shift schedule including HolidaysAbility to multi-task and work in ambiguous situations PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSCommercial power generation experience preferredKnowledge of NEPOOL, PJM, MISO, ERCOT, SPP markets preferredExperience with SCADA control systems, PI and alarm response preferredFamiliarity with NERC and FERC guidelines pertaining to power generation preferred
