Job Summary
Communicates all information to timekeepers and employees regarding payroll schedules, special processing, etc. Assists with all timekeeper and back-up timekeeper training and mandatory annual training on timekeeping software. Acts as subject matter expert to timekeepers with questions regarding time entry, proper coding and software troubleshooting; and to employees regarding questions about pay checks, discrepancies in time and/or pay.
What You Will Do Assists timekeepers and IT Help Desk with time entry questions and problems. Sends communications to timekeepers and/or employees alerting them to deadlines or modifications involving payroll.Provides employees with explanations of pay, pay checks and/or pay adjustments.Monitors grant-funded labor charges covering substitute teacher pay and reports totals to Accounting Department. Audits accruals for negative balances and works with timekeepers to reconcile. Compiles and retains required payroll documentation.Assists in timekeeper training, including mandatory annual workshops. Notifies manager of changes in timekeepers and back-up timekeepers for schools and other departments.Acts as a liaison between timekeepers and HC Resource Center to ensure employee data errors are reconciled for proper pay.Maintains and processes substitute payroll.Maintains and processes substitute bonus pay.Provides timekeepers instruction and support for BEP and "other special" stipend payment processes.Education Qualifications High School Diploma or GED RequiredExperience Qualifications 1-3 years working in payroll and/or timekeeping for a large company using payroll software, such as Kronos, ADP, etc., including a working knowledge of DOL Wage and Hour laws RequiredSkills and Abilities Strong Excel, problem-solving, mathematic, and communication skills are required.Equivalency Starting At: $23.84
Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
