We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Management People Leader to join the Ford Credit Global Data Management and Services (GDMS) team. This critical role will lead and mentor a team of data professionals responsible for the end-to-end data lifecycle, ensuring data quality, accessibility, and governance across the organization. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and an understanding of the automotive finance industry.
This role involves leading a team of data professionals, establishing comprehensive data governance policies, and collaborating with stakeholders to develop impactful data products. It also includes overseeing the creation and maintenance of reports, providing ad-hoc data support to business users, and ensuring data accuracy and timely delivery. A key responsibility is supporting the launch of a new accounts receivable platform and analytics data platform. This position requires implementing and monitoring data quality metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and driving initiatives to enhance data integrity. Furthermore, the role necessitates translating business needs into technical specifications and prioritizing development efforts aligned with the overall data strategy. Finally, performance management, training, and career development of the team are also crucial aspects of this position.
What you'll do…
Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, develop, and mentor a team of data analysts and specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. This includes performance management, training, and career development.
Data Governance: Establish and maintain robust data governance policies and procedures encompassing data access control, data discovery, data quality management, data lineage tracking, and master data management. This includes working with stakeholders across the organization to ensure compliance and adherence to these policies.
Data Product Development: Collaborate with business stakeholders to define requirements for new data products and services. This includes translating business needs into technical specifications, prioritizing development efforts, and ensuring alignment with overall data strategy.
Reporting & Ad-hoc Support: Oversee the development and maintenance of regular and ad-hoc reporting to support business decision-making. This includes ensuring data accuracy, timely delivery, and clear communication of findings. This also includes providing support to business users with their data needs.
Platform Support: Play a key role in supporting the successful launch and ongoing operation of our new Accounts Receivable platform and Analytics data platform. This includes working with IT and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration, data migration, and user training.
Data Quality & Process Improvement: Implement and monitor data quality metrics, identify areas for improvement, and drive initiatives to enhance data accuracy and consistency. Develop and implement processes to ensure data integrity throughout the data lifecycle.
You'll have…
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
7+ years of experience in data management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Proven experience in implementing and managing data governance programs.
Deep understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL (extract, transform, load) processes.
Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform) is highly desirable.
Experience with Accounts Receivable systems and processes in the automotive finance industry is highly desirable.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.
