The Democratic Governors Association (DGA), the campaign committee responsible for electing and supporting Democratic governors, is seeking multiple researchers to lead research book projects for the ******** cycle. These positions will report to the Deputy Research Director. Applications will continue to be accepted until this position is filled. The DGA has 36 governors races this cycle, and expects to produce over 25 research books. The Research Advisor will work either solo, or with 1-3 research associates on a book projects between 3 and 12 weeks long, depending on scope, and work with a Deputy Research Director to edit and polish research product to ensure accuracy. This position is designed to feed into statewide research director positions on competitive governors' races, but offers no guarantees. To accommodate this, this position can be remote. The salary for this position is set at 90,000 annually before benefits and applicable withholdings.
\n Primary ResponsibilitiesProduce original candidate research memos and books.Manage research associates' work on a project by project basis.Assist with other assignments and tasks as requested by the Research Director and Deputy Research Directors. Minimum Qualifications2-4 years minimum in campaign research either with a consulting firm, a DC political committee, or directly with a campaign is preferred;Excellent research skills and strong attention to detail including experience designing and creating campaign research memos;Ability to write, edit, and fact-check with precision and calm on deadline during high-volume, fast-paced periods;Extensive experience with LexisNexis, public records requests, analyzing primary source documents, commonly-used research databases and other basic opposition research tasks;A pro-active, self-starter who can take direction/work as part of a team, but who can also be trusted to independently produce error-free research; andUnderstanding of how research fits into the overall campaign/communications picture.
