GLOBAL INVESTMENT RESEARCH From macroeconomic forecasts to individual stock analysis, our team develops tools and insights to help shape investment strategies for clients and the firm. Our analysts work on client-focused research in the equity, fixed-income, currency, and commodities markets, mining big data that enters markets around the world each day to identify game-changing insights. Global Investment Research produces original, fundamental research and analysis of industries, companies and economies. Our research teams continually identify and analyze financial information, strategic issues and trends that affect companies, industries and markets on a regional and global scale. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in equity research and contribute to the development of actionable investment ideas.
Responsibilities: Build strong industry knowledge of the Metals and Mining sectorWrite reports/notes on companies under coverage and thematic industry ideasUpdate and build sophisticated financial models and work with large data setsManage the team's data infrastructure, including industry and company specific filesInterpret data and perform analysis on company, market, economic and technology trendsCollaborate with other business unit team members to share insights, exchange ideas, and benchmark best practicesCommunicate with the equities sales force and traders, clients and company managementsSKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR Basic Qualifications: 2+ years of research experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong ability to perform financial statement, business and valuation analysisExcellent analytical, organizational, and creative skillsProficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-energy environmentPassion for financial markets and a desire to build a career in equity researchPreferred Qualifications: Strong understanding of equity researchDemonstrated interest or previous experience in the Metals and Mining, Energy or Natural Resources sectorProficiency in financial databases such as FactSet or BloombergComfortable taking initiative and being resourceful/entrepreneurialDemonstrated ability to think laterally and exercise good judgmentAbility to multi-task and work with numerous teamsSome, if not all, of the following FINRA certifications: SIE, 7, 86, or 87ABOUT GOLDMAN SACHS At Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow.
