BMI OrganBank is an up-and-coming developer of medical devices in the regenerative medicine space. Our mission is to transform transplantation and eliminate the years-long waitlist for lifesaving organ transplants. We are looking for an enthusiastic researcher to join our team who will be responsible for developing and validating novel organ preservation platforms and supporting the research and development of other cutting-edge technologies. Responsibilities may include the following: · Plan and conduct perfusion runs, and other activities as needed. · Test and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for preservation methods and products. · Conduct analytics on perfusion research results. · Perform laboratory experiments utilizing standard perfusion techniques and equipment. · Collect project data. · Process, organize, and summarize data, reporting experiment results using a variety of scientific, word processing, spreadsheet, or statistical software applications or program platforms. · Assist in the design of laboratory experiments, techniques, and protocols. · May instruct other staff and students in basic laboratory techniques. · Perform related laboratory maintenance such as maintaining and cleaning equipment and ordering supplies. Requirements: · Medical or technical degree or Premed background with demonstrated experience. · Background in biochemical, life sciences, and biomedical sciences. · Laboratory work experience is a plus. · Prior experience in executing SOPS for assays or bench chemistry is desirable. · Strong analytical background, problem-solving skills, and communication skills. · Ability to work occasional nights or weekends as project needs arise. This is a hybrid role, with the expectation of one to two office days per week that are anticipated to take place in Winston-Salem, Raleigh-Durham, or Charlotte. In addition, it may be necessary to work at the office of our external engineering services partners and travel as dictated by company needs. We're an equal opportunity employer.
