Position Description The incumbent for this position will provide in-person support for project activities with youth, as well as engagement with community and county partners who work in sectors that serve justice-involved youth. The Research Assistant will provide data collection and analytic support using various research methodologies and tools, coordinate with youth research participants and facilitators, ensure adherence to ethical guidelines, collaborate with the project team, and maintain accurate and confidential records.
The Research Assistant must be able to play a key role in supporting this project. Excellent verbal and written communication, research, organization, and time management skills are critical elements of this position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Attending a series of in-person youth training and focus group sessions and taking detailed notes during focus groups.Providing in-person support in the form of participant recruitment and registration, collection of forms, data entry, and data analysis.Reviewing and updating study materials and documents.Developing a rapport with and providing support to youth participants and facilitators.Collaborating with community and county partners.Maintaining adherence to standard operating procedures and quality standards to preserve the integrity of the data and findings.Must have: A bachelor's degree in criminal justice, public policy, public health, social work, or a related discipline;The ability to work in Fresno County, California;A commitment to improving the health and well-being of justice-involved youth, their families, and their communities;Excellent written and verbal communication skills;Strong research-related skills such as attention to detail, analytic skills, proficiency using research tools and software, time management, ability to prioritize, problem-solving, and adaptability.Must be: Highly reliable and able to manage assignments of various priority and duration;Comfortable working independently, but with guidance;Willing to support project coordination;Able to develop relationships with various partners including youth, as well as community-based organizations and county staff;Able to prepare for presentations and/or events, both in-person and virtually. This may include moving chairs/tables, setting up educational booths, and using audio/visual equipment at in-person events;Available to work approx. 10-20 hours/week, including evenings and weekends, with flexibility to adjust hours based on workload and project requirements.Preference will be given to those who have: Experience working with justice-involved youth and their families;Demonstrated research experience;Experience with data input and analysis, and telling a story with data;Fluency in Hmong or Spanish.Location Aurrera Health Group is a fully remote organization; however, Research Assistants will be required to work in-person in Fresno County, California. Local travel will be required to attend project-related activities and events.
Compensation and Benefits Aurrera Health Group offers competitive compensation based on industry standards and experience, skills, and responsibility. This is a part-time and temporary position beginning in November 2024. The pay range for this position is $25.00 to $30.00 per hour.
