Unit Mission Statement: The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) partners with researchers across the institution to provide the best opportunity for researchers to be successful with obtaining and managing external awards.
OSP does this by facilitating all aspects of proposal submission, providing in-depth knowledge of and expertise in both pre and post award services, ultimately serving as stewards for the Institute's overall research efforts.
Research Compliance is a sub-unit of the Office of Sponsored Programs and provides the operational support to the Research Regulatory Oversight Committees ( i.e., IRB, IACUC and IBC), the Faculty Research Committee and the Financial Conflict of Interest Committee. Position Summary: William & Mary is seeking a Research Compliance Analyst who is a self-motivated individual with strong administrative and problem-solving skills with an interest in understanding the regulatory guidelines and policies, procedures and ethical issues pertaining to the IACUC, PHSC, IBC and RAD institutional compliance committees. The incumbent will provide regulatory, analytical, and technical support to Institutional Compliance Committees and W&M investigators. Perform workflow coordination of protocol submissions in the Cayuse-based Sponsored Programs & Research Compliance System from pre-review for completeness and tracking of new research proposals, amendments, continuing reviews of existing research protocols, and adverse event reports according to institutional policies and compliance with federal state, and local laws and regulations. Work with compliance committee chairs to establish meeting agendas, set-up meetings, attend meetings and assist in the preparation of minutes and post meeting communications with researchers. Continually monitors federal regulations and processes to identify and interpret new and updated requirements and assists in identifying training and educational needs for stakeholders. Assists with external IRB reliance agreements. Perform records management function ensuring the integrity and security of compliance committee data in paper or electronic format. Monitor mailbox and telephone communications and responds to research compliance inquiries. Assists with research compliance website development and management. Participate in research compliance monitoring activities, and other research related functions and projects as assigned. Support Faculty Research Committee responsible for review of internal grants and externally sponsored limited submission proposals. We will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this vacancy. Conditions of Employment: Complete Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative online courses or completion within first 90 days of hire. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and research compliance or regulatory experience. Specific prior experience in a Research Compliance position is not required but applicants should have a broad ability to understand medical and research activities and the application of relevant federal, state, and local laws and policies. A combination of education and experience will be considered. Applicant must have strong analytical, time management and multi-tasking skills, superior written and oral communication skills, effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently, prioritize work and organize and manage a complex workload and demonstrative ability with computers and contemporary software packages. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a research compliance or regulatory focused position in an academic and/or corporate research setting. Completion of Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) IRB Administration Foundations or IRB Administration Advanced courses. Certification as an IRB Professional (CIP) Is the position remote work eligible?: Hybrid (works remotely at least 1 day per week but not full-time)

Advertised Pay Range: Up to $70,000, commensurate with experience
Advertised Pay Range Statement: All hiring rates are commensurate with relevant experience up to the advertised amount considering internal alignment.
