Research Engineer

job summary:
A Research Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Mossville, IL area. The Research Engineer is responsible for executing system simulations for ePowertrain configurations, documenting processes, and collaborating with engineering teams to support product performance and durability assessments.

responsibilities:

Execute NPI simulation requests, communicate results, and document significant findings.

Develop and document core simulation processes, ensuring adherence to these processes.

Support the creation of new simulation capabilities for predicting ePowertrain performance and durability.

Report progress on simulation requests and outcomes.

Provide accurate simulation data to support system performance evaluations and design decisions.

Improve team processes and help standardize simulation documentation.

Daily collaboration with ePowertrain simulation team members.

Regular communication with engineers across different locations. Desired Skills:

1D performance simulation on Power-systems or Drivetrain systems.

Matlab Simulink and/or similar tools. Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and

At least 5 years of experience in 1D system simulation.
