Research Scholar – Human Trafficking Data Lab ??Stanford, California, United StatesNew??Research?????13 hours ago Post Date?????103552 Requisition # Stanford's Department of Health Policy (DHP) invites applicants for a part-time (50%) Research Scholar (1 year fixed-term) position that will lead research activities for a dynamic, mission-driven team in the fast-growing, interdisciplinary Stanford Human Trafficking Data Lab. DHP produces interdisciplinary, world-class research on domestic and international health that advances our understanding of how health care can be delivered, and shapes the formulation of health care policy around the world. DHP seeks a Research Scholar in the Stanford Human Trafficking Data Lab working under Professor Grant Miller and in collaboration with several other faculty and researchers. The Stanford Human Trafficking Data Lab is a collegial, multidisciplinary research collaboration with both academic expertise and frontline anti-trafficking experience working to apply the most promising research innovations to combat human trafficking. The Research Scholar reports to the Lab's Principal Investigator with dotted-line supervision from the Lab's Director of Strategic Partnerships. The Scholar will assist the HTDL PIs in attaining the research goals of the Lab's projects, both sponsored and exploratory. The Scholar will execute the direction of the HTDL PIs to design and implement research activities of the Lab. The Research Scholar will be responsible for implementing the Lab's diverse research portfolio, which requires maintaining both a high-level view of all activity while also managing day-to-day execution of research work in a timely, efficient manner. This includes drafting proposals and completing reporting for sponsored research projects; contributing directly to project design, analysis, and research article drafting; and working in coordination with various administrative teams across Stanford to manage contracts, finances, and human resources, all in compliance with relevant regulations and policies set forth by the university, funders, and relevant ethics boards. Successful applicants will demonstrate an exceptional track record in research execution and design, as well as robust organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication, excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills, ability to track and meet frequent deadlines, and reliable attention to detail. The style of workflow in the Lab requires all members to be collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working in among a team that is often scattered across geographies. The Lab's Research Scholar will need to act with autonomy, but in a way that reflects Lab priorities as set by the Principal Investigators. Candidates must have a PhD in a relevant social science field and several years of experience in research administration. Experience with Stanford administrative systems and familiarity with the university is a plus, but is not necessary. Similarly, subject matter expertise in human trafficking or the broader human rights and international development field is preferred, but not necessary. The expected pay range for this position is:
FULL TIME EQUIVALENT: $84,000-$118,000 ACTUAL 50% FTE SALARY: $42,000-$59,000 This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate. Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position.
