Job Description - Research Team Leader (3313719)
The group develops and deploys improved targeting strategies for selective ablation of cell populations as well as engineering protein targets to facilitate small molecule screens. The work involves protein engineering, mammalian and bacterial expression, in vivo biology and application of automated strategies to the evaluation and modification of protein function. Work activities require an understanding of the requirements of Good Laboratory Practice and the conduct of studies to be submitted to health regulatory authorities.
The Research Team Leader I develops leads for preclinical toxicology and pharmacology testing and operates in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidances of competent health authorities of the appropriate jurisdiction. The Research Team Leader I understands the requirements of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) as defined at 21 CFR part 58 and implements experimental designs consistent with GLP principles for studies intended to be submitted to regulatory authorities. The Research Team Leader I understands and complies with the quality management system of the regulated studies group.
ResponsibilitiesImplements therapeutic candidate discovery programsEngages with the animal studies group/responsible veterinarian for design and execution of in vivo studies (rodents)Carries out data reduction and analysis, statistical inference and sensitivity testingPerforms product design and feasibility testingContributes to the development of quality technical agreements as neededEngages with CROs and manages outsourced activitiesQualificationsPh.D. degree required in molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, biological or related sciences
