The Center for Advanced Cardiac Care (CACC) at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic candidate to join our team as a full-time Research Worker. The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Nir Uriel and the research team on a variety of research projects in the realm of advanced heart failure, mechanocirculatory support, and heart transplantation. As part of a dynamic research environment, the ideal candidate should be adaptable to working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Generate research questions, gather data from the electronic medical record and/or clinical registries, and recruit participants for investigator-initiated trials.Perform biostatistical analyses of clinical data to answer research questions.Provide biostatistical support to other members of the research team.Maintain effective communication with the research team, providing regular updates on progress and challenges.Prepare scientific abstracts and article manuscripts for submission to academic conferences and journals.Provide support in any way as needed to ensure smooth operation of the research team.Perform other responsibilities as assigned.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. biomedical sciences, public health, biomedical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline) and at least 3 years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Python, R, SPSS, or SAS.Strong organizational and time management skills.Excellent attention to detail.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving research environment.Preferred Qualifications
Experience witha significant data analysis component.Familiarity with cardiovascular research.Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Experience with biostatistical analysis.Prior abstract/journal publications.Experience working with patients in a hospital setting.Other Requirements
