Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Experimental implementation and data collection, and analysis (40%) Manage animal (mouse/rat) colonies (35%) Manage and purchase lab supply (10%) Supervise as needed new graduate/undergraduate trainees on related projects (15%) All required qualifications must be documented on application materials
Required Qualifications: BS/BA or a combination of education and work experience to equal 4 years. Preferred Qualifications: Highly self-motivated researcher. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Desire and ability to work collaboratively with others. Willingness to accept constructive criticism. The ideal candidate should have research experience with preclinical and clinical specimens, cell isolation from brain tissue will be necessary to study the effects of iron deficiency anemia on neuroinflammation and epigenetic modifications in neurons. The candidate must be able to understand and address well-defined hypotheses with appropriately designed experimental plans. Desirable skills include RNA/DNA isolation, PCR amplification, Western blot, PCR genotyping, Real-time PCR, and Immunohistology. A desire to learn and to be trained is a plus.
