The University of Minnesota Department of MechanicalEngineering seeks a staff researcher to be hired at the Researcher 5 level, responsible for devising aerosol based systems to cryopreservecells and to develop new theories describing ice nucleation and growth in rapidly cooled, cryopreservation systems. The researcher will beresponsible for leading research teams consisting of students and post-doctoral associates, writing publications for peer-review, preparingproposals as a principal investigator and co-investigator, and preparing grantreports. Qualifications
Required qualifications include: Advanced degree with 1 or more years ofresearch training Experience in working with spray-based technologies. Experience in working with cryogenic systems andvitrification experiments. Demonstrated ability, through published papers, to devise models describing the nucleation and growth ofice in supercooled systems. Preferred qualifications include: PhD in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering,mathematics, chemistry or physics. About the Department
