About the Residential Services: The Residential Services Division consists of a Juvenile Detention Center and two post-adjudicated facilities. The facilities house youth who are awaiting court and youth who are placed into the department's custody by the juvenile courts. The facilities provide direct care and supervision for all youth placed with the department along with providing mental health and behavioral treatment programs.  
About the Position:
The Resource Liaison coordinates, implements and ensures the provision of high-quality services and resources for facility-based programs aimed at youth on probation housed in residential facilities.  
Duties and Responsibilities: Develops, implements, schedules, and maintains residential programs, and coordinates special events, and services. Coordinates and ensures that appropriate program referrals are made and enter necessary program information/data in the designated case management program. Identifies and establishes working relationships with community-based organizations and local, state, and federal agencies that can provide youth-centered and family-oriented programs and services to youth housed in department facilities. Identifies and resolves complex consumer/youth, and community partner issues and complaints with minimal guidance and supervision. Works with HCJPD Administration and staff to guarantee programs and services are in compliance with Texas Juvenile Justice Department Standards, the Texas Administrative Code, Uniform Grants Management Standards, and federal statutory regulations. Serves as the single point of contact for organizations that provide educational services, job skills training and mentors for youth in HCJPD facilities. Education and Experience: BS/BA from an accredited college or university and  Five (5) full-time paid experience working in casework, counseling, community or group work in a social service, community, corrections, or juvenile agency that deals with offenders or disadvantaged persons. OR High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution and Seven (7) years of full-time experience working in casework, counseling, community or group work in a social service, community, corrections, or juvenile agency that deals with offenders or disadvantaged persons. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrate strong knowledge of programs, services, and activities that may be of interest to children, adolescents, and families. Familiar with community-based organizations, governmental entities, advocacy groups, and others who have an interest in serving at-risk youth. Knowledgeable about the Texas Juvenile Justice System, and policies and procedures as they relate to the management of department-wide programs and services. General knowledge of Microsoft office applications and JIMS II. Ability to analyze information, and make limited independent decisions that are within the scope of assigned/acquired duties. Decisions should be made utilizing professional and ethical standards, positive benefits to youth and families, efficiency, security, staff and financial implications, and the overall impact of the proposed program, service, or special event. Licensure: Valid Texas Driver's license. (Employee must maintain liability insurance in at least the minimum amounts required by law.)
Additional Requirements: Upon receiving a conditional job offer, every applicant undergoes a criminal background check, drug screening and psychological assessment. Employees who hold this position are required to possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver's license. Employee must maintain liability insurance in at least the minimum amounts required by law. Certified copies of transcripts of educational credentials and/or college credits will be required during hiring process. Every employee is subject to random testing for drug and alcohol or if there is a reasonable suspicion to believe that the employee is under the influence of a substance prohibited by this policy while in the course and scope of employment. If public emergency is declared by county, staff could be assigned to other duties and/or facilities and/or under the supervision of another county department. Must be at least 21 years old. About Harris County Juvenile Probation (HCJPD) The Harris County Juvenile Probation Department (HCJPD) is committed to the protection of the public utilizing intervention strategies that are community-based, family-oriented, and least restrictive while emphasizing responsibility and accountability of both parent and child. HCJPD provides supervision and services to youth between the ages of 10 and 17, who are under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court. HCJPD is the largest juvenile probation department in Texas with approximately 1,100 employees and over 3,500 youth referred to the department annually.

40 Hours | Varies - Includes Weekends as needed
Hours will be discussed during departmental interview. Salary: $60,008 - $68,016 Annually
Depends on Qualifications
Based on 26 pay periods
