Responsible for the skilled and competent delivery of Respiratory Services ordered by a physician in accordance with established protocols set by the facility or other health care provider in the treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with the Cardiopulmonary system. Theses services may include, but are not limited to: Therapeutic and Diagnostic use of Medical gases and administration apparatus, environmental control systems, humidification and aerosols, administration of drugs and medications of the cardiopulmonary system, ventilatory support including maintenance and management of life support systems, bronchopulmonary drainage and exercises, assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation, maintenance of natural airways including the insertion of and maintenance of artificial airways.
